The use of a moisture alarm is geared toward treatment of nocturnal
enuresis by behavior modification (conditioning therapy)(1,2).
Various portable, battery-operated alarms are currently available
from BedwettingStore.com, catalogs and through manufacturer's
web sites. We prefer the Malem alarm because of it's durability,
comfort and method of attachment to clothing. All the following
wearable alarms are sensitive to only a few drops of moisture and are superior
to pad alarms that require more moisture before sounding. A pad type alarm, however, could be useful for situations where special needs prevented the use of a wearable alarm. Always
have your child visit a physician or nurse practitioner before starting
any treatment program, even if you intend to only use an alarm.

parents have about alarms.
Malem - Malem offers a full line of alarms including a model with sound AND vibration. (Note:
We recommend this alarm to all of our patients.)
PALCO - The WET-STOP alarm attaches to the shoulder area with a sensor that is sewn onto children's underwear.
Koregon - The Nite Train'r consists of a alarm box that attaches
to the shoulder area and a sensor pad. The Nite Train'r Wet Call alarm is a bed pad alarm where a moisture sensing pad lays flat on the bed under the child and sounds when it senses wetness.
Nytone - The Nytone Enuretic Alarm is warn on the wrist, rather
than the shoulder.
Ideas for Living - The Potty Pager is a vibratory alarm. Since
most children with nocturnal enuresis need their parent's help awakening
during the early phase of treatment, a silent alarm like this is
undesirable.
